ellagee - So Much Fail For Alexandria

At the insistance of her fans the wonderful ellagee decided to release some polishes that didn't quite turn out how she had invisioned them in a very very very limited amount. It wouldn't have a real name, but she'd put our name on the bottle. This is the very first one and I love it.

It is a white base with small red and blue glitters in different shapes and sizes, silver stars and some very very fine red glitter. After a couple coats it had a slight pink tint. No problem a white base can't fix!!

I did 2 coats of sinful colors white and 1 coat of So Much Fail. There were tons of silver stars, but I only ended up with 3, without really fishing for them, but I don't mind so much. It is a gorgeous, but subtle patriotic polish!  Perfect for the 4th, or all year round.

And the name is awesome ;)

My helper and future (or maybe current) nail polish addict.

So from time to time you will see or hear about these 2 (and possibly my 6 year old son Aiden as well). My 2 year old daughter, Emma Love, is super super girly and one of the things that excites her most is when she and I match, especially nail polish. In other words, I better find a lock box for my nail polish in a few years. Possibly my heels in 10 years if she is my size. LOL

And my wonderful husband, Dustin. I can not draw to save my life. When I say I can't draw, I mean a stick figure looks like it's been mauled by a bear. So any type of complex painted on nail art... Most likely my very patient husband. I will give him credit for it of course. :)

As for this picture, Daddy wanted to paint his little girls nails. Black to match my toenails and her toenails were hot pink to match my nails. :)

Please excuse our lazy butt kitten in the background. He is still in the play until you fall over passed out, kitten phase. (8 1/2-9ish weeks)

Glitter Guilty - Mom's the Bomb!

I love, love, love this glitter polish! It was supposed to come in a box with earrings, but I have my 14g hoops that I wear all the time. The earrings were very pretty, they would end up shoved in the back of my jewelry box or sold immediately though. I emailed Glitter Guilty and they are amazing and offered to sell it seperately to anyone who just wanted the polish. I'm sure I wasn't the only one to email them, but that is the type of customer service that will make me a customer for life!

Now onto the polish. Mom's The Bomb is a gorgeous mix of silver, black, white and hot pink squares and rectangles with lots of tiny silver glitter mixed in. 2 coats over a base is perfect and no fishing involved. it dries quickly too. :) Very important for me seeing as I normally have a pretty limited amount of time to let them dry. There are so many things you can do with this polish. I can't wait to try it in more combinations.

The accent nail was How I Met Your Magenta by Wet n Wild. The white was my personal nightmare. It was by LA Colors and I got rid of it immediately after, it took 8 coats to be anywhere close to opaque and not streaky.

Excuse our newest family member, Tybalt.

YouPolish - O R U?

I had been very iffy about anything other than red, pink or french tip since high school. I started branching out a little more into greens, but blue. I wasn't sure if I could pull that off. O R U? looked so pretty though. A gorgeous medium blue with lots of gold glitter. My nail polish addiction took the ropes and purchased it.

This is 2 coats of O R U? by YouPolish over 2 coats of OPI Green-wich Village. (Which is what I just conveniently happened to be wearing at the time). Application was great! It goes on very smooth with no streaking at all. There is no fishing for glitter required either, which is nice. If used with a base 1-2 coats is all you need, without a base I may use 3 coats to get it how opaque I like most polish. Even then, it dries fairly quickly, so that is no problem at all.

It is a great polish and color and definitely one I will be reaching for again in the near future. :) My mind has definitely changed about blues.

ellegee - It's A Gas Gas Gas!

Time for my very first review! I want to start off with one of my absolutely favorite new polishes. It's A Gas Gas Gas! by ellagee.

I bought this as one of ellagee's friday specials, partially because I Iove her polishes and partially because it looked so pretty in pictures. (Gotta love the name too.)

Pictures do not do this polish justice. I took a ton in all sorts of different locations and different lighting, natural and otherwise and just could not capture it's beauty. Application was great too. 2 coats was perfect. No streaks, perfectly opaque, dried quickly and the consistancy of the polish was the perfect happy medium. Not too thick, not too thin.

Another perfect 10 from her!

And so it begins.

I am so excited to be starting this. A place for me to show off manicures and nail art I have done, review polishes or beauty products I buy, review subscriptions I get, review Influenster boxes and a random post here and there. Here is to the start of something great.
