I received these from CrowdTap free to try out and review.

I was super excited when I found out that my application to review these had been approved. There is nothing more annoying about slow cooker meals than trying to get off baked on food. It drives me batty!

I figured a great place to start would be with shredded chicken. It always ends up a pain to clean afterwards.

I started out with some chicken and homemade taco seasoning. Add black beans, kidney beads, corn, some chopped up tomato and home made salsa.

Put the lid on, cook on high for 4 hours and then shred the chicken and stir.

After all it took was pulling the liner out, tossing it in the trash and a quick wash. Which was only because my hubby decided to shred the chicken in the slow cooker.

All in all I was super impressed with these. The chicken cooked just as well in the same amount of time as it would usually take. Just without the mess. I will definitely be buying more.

Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00704411234664122525noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2733394880567317789.post-78951338602654618912015-01-28T07:31:00.001-08:002015-01-28T07:31:40.611-08:00Reese's chocolate peanut butter from influenster

Not beauty or nail polish related, but definitely amazing!

A little while back I received one of the wonderful quizzes from influenster. Of course you fill out the survey and cross your fingers that you qualify! Then I got the great news that I had qualified for the Reese's peanut butter chocolate spread box! Let me tell you, this stuff is seriously amazing!

So far we've had it on bagels, pretzels and sandwiches and made ants on a log. The kids LOVE it!! Even I love it and I am typically not a huge peanut butter fan. Then again I do love chocolate. It is definitely too chocolatey for every day use, but as a special treat it is great! We will definitely buy this in the future! I can't wait to see what other creations we can come up with. :)

I received this from influenster free to test and review.

So quite a few months back I was talking to the lovely Laura of ellagee, and she mentioned wanting to do a Hawaii collection. I can not begin to express how much that excited me. I had been living there for over seven years and we had just gotten notice that in a matter of two months we were leaving. It was my husband's and my first (and second house), the first place I went after leaving my moms house. Both of our kids were born there... It was our home. I got lost in sending pictures and talking about the places and things I loved. The sights that for over seven years, no matter if I saw them every day or not, I was in awe of. It is really a stunning place.
Fast forward a few months and she asked if I would do a review for her. I don't think I could spit out yes fast enough. I was, and still am, very, very honored that she thought enough of me to ask me to do a review. Not to mention the colors are amazing, the little flower rings are amazingly cute and the collection holds a very special place in my heart. It will be a bit long and picture heavy, but one picture simply could not do each polish justice. Everything, but the glitter topper, was done with three coats and a base and top coat. Two would have sufficed, but I am partial to three for some reason.

First up is Leilani, which was almost my daughter's name. This is three coats with nothing under it. It is a gorgeous white base with blue and purple glitters of various sizes and shapes. It went on very easily and smoothly and is packed with glitters so no fishing necessary. Taking it off was a bit difficult, but that seems to be every glitter polish for me.

Now we have Pua Melia, which means Plumeria. They can be seen everywhere. In jewelry, fake flowers on hair clips or ties and the trees. We had one in our yard for the last 5 years. There is just something amazing about pulling a fresh Plumeria out of the tree and putting it in your hair. Three coats with nothing underneath. Application and formula is the same as Leilani except with pink and yellow glitters. Very smooth and even and packed with glitter.
This pink beauty is Haleakala Sunrise. Haleakale is a dormant volcano on Maui standing over 10,000 feet above sea level. Even though it was cold, rainy and wet and we could hardly breathe at the top when we went, it is still a stunning thing to see. I used 3 coats and the formula is great. There is just something to be said about polishes that go on so smoothly. The shimmer and subtle shift to slightly orange definitely make this very different than any other pink I have and I have quite a few.
Nai'a is a glitter topper with super cute dolphins and different colored and sized glitters. Hawaiian spinner dolphins are known as Nai'a in Hawaiian. I actually used only 2 coats with this one over Sinful Colors black and white. No fishing for glitters necessary, but I did place them a bit. This polish makes me think of dolphins playing in the clear turquoise waters with the pinks, purples and oranges of the sunset reflecting off of the ocean.
One of my very few regrets is that we never climbed the Stairway to Heaven, also known as the Haiku stairs. 2,120 feet and 3,922 vertical steps to the top of the mountain range. Partially because it terrifies me and partially because even though you can see people climbing it all the time, it is not quite legal. It has technically been closed to the public since 1987. Stairway to Heaven, the polish, is a beautiful sparkly green with hints of silver and lighter green depending on how you look at it. A perfect representation of the lush green landscape of Hawaii. This one is very very pigmented, so it is slightly thicker, but nothing that I found unworkable.
Typically I am not a huge fan of yellows and oranges. They don't get along with my skin tone at all. Golden Sands Of Waikiki blows that out of the water. It is the perfect yellow, with a subtle sparkle to it and went on so easily.
Now for my favorite and the one that has the most meaning to me. Lanikai Beach. My absolute favorite beach. Crystal clear and calm waters, sea turtles that randomly swim up, beautiful views. It is often rated one of the worlds nicest beaches. The color is perfect. Laura got it absolutely perfect with this one. With all of them, but especially Lanikai Beach. The sparkle of the sun reflecting off of the water, the shifts in the blue depending on which way you look at it, she hit the nail right on the head.
It normally comes with 2 full size polishes and an extra of some kind. There is also the chance to win a special item or discount. There is a polish that comes in every box and for the second there is a choice between 2. You can add on the second choice as well though.
It also came with a little nail brush, cuticle oil, 5 cuticle sticks and a tiny hand bath balm. (which is awesome)
I had plans to let my nails breathe for a bit. Yeah, that didn't happen. So I decided to go for one I had not used before. Dark since I just hacked all my nails off because of 1 broken one. Miss Emma Love (my little LoveBug) wanted pink as usual, so we grabbed a random one that happened to be OPI Regis Raves. One of the many things I love about OPI, is how quickly it dries. I reach for them a lot for her. A 2 year old will only sit still for so long, even when doing something she loves. So they are perfect. Regis Raves is the perfect girly pink! Not too light, not too dark. I would use 2 coats for myself, but little hands are good with just 1 coat.

In other words, I better find a lock box for my nail polish in a few years. Possibly my heels in 10 years if she is my size. LOL

And my wonderful husband, Dustin. I can not draw to save my life. When I say I can't draw, I mean a stick figure looks like it's been mauled by a bear. So any type of complex painted on nail art... I love, love, love this glitter polish! It was supposed to come in a box with earrings, but I have my 14g hoops that I wear all the time. The earrings were very pretty, they would end up shoved in the back of my jewelry box or sold immediately though. I emailed Glitter Guilty and they are amazing and offered to sell it seperately to anyone who just wanted the polish. I'm sure I wasn't the only one to email them, but that is the type of customer service that will make me a customer for life!

Now onto the polish. Mom's The Bomb is a gorgeous mix of silver, black, white and hot pink squares and rectangles with lots of tiny silver glitter mixed in. 2 coats over a base is perfect and no fishing involved. it dries quickly too. :) Very important for me seeing as I normally have a pretty limited amount of time to let them dry. There are so many things you can do with this polish. I can't wait to try it in more combinations.

The accent nail was How I Met Your Magenta by Wet n Wild. The white was my personal nightmare. It was by LA Colors and I got rid of it immediately after, it took 8 coats to be anywhere close to opaque and not streaky.

There is no fishing for glitter required either, which is nice. If used with a base 1-2 coats is all you need, without a base I may use 3 coats to get it how opaque I like most polish. Even then, it dries fairly quickly, so that is no problem at all.

It is a great polish and color and definitely one I will be reaching for again in the near future. :) My mind has definitely changed about blues.
